Biddeford Saco Country Club is a Semi-Private golf course located in Saco, Maine.
Biddeford Saco Country Club first opened for play in 1921. The course was designed by Donald Ross. The Club expanded the course to 18 holes in 1986 under Bryan Silva's guidance.
Many other classic golf courses are becoming obselete with new changes in technology, Biddeford-Saco remains a true test of golf, with ample water, bunkering and other obstacles to present the golfer with a challenge. With four sets of tees and ample, generous landing areas, the course is also fun for all levels of golfer. And best yet, a typical, average 18 hole round takes less than 4 and a half hours and the course is easily walkable!
The Biddeford-Saco Country Club is really two distinct courses with the original nine being designed by the venerable Donald Ross back in the 1920's and the back by the team of Cornish and Silva in the 1980's. The two nines complement each other with the front being fairly wide open off the tee but devilishly difficult around the subtle Ross greens and the back much tighter and more modern feeling. A trio of holes stand out as being exceptional. #9 is a par 4 that measures a stern 438 from the tips and often plays directly into wind. On #10 you will face a steep downhill par three fronted by water. #11 is another bruising par 4 (460 from the back tee!) that will not only test your length but has rather severe green that has produced many a three putt.
Not a long course by modern standards, this course will force you to hit every club in your bag and requires soft touch around the greens. As you sit on the deck after your round you will wonder how this course, at just over 6000 yards, did not surrender a better score.
The Biddeford-Saco Country Club golf course plays to 6,192 yards and a par-71. The course rating is 69.6 and with a slope rating of 123.

Member for a few years. Well maintained course with older front...both 9's designed by Ross, back built in 1980's by Cornish & Silva. Not overly long from regular tees. Can sometimes only hit driver on 1 or 2 holes on back 9. A very nice course.
